A movement in the opposite direction

“it is not only Latvia’s but a world tendency that people are moving to the cities. My family and my friends around are an example that this movement can be the opposite,” tells Nikijs Kalns who has chosen a countryside lifestyle in Liezēre parish.
“We should learn to stop, to see and just to be happy, not to run around all the time filling our time. Today in this hasty rhythm people are afraid to stop,” Nikijs admits.
“Latvia is the place that I know and understand. And this is how the motherland differs from all the other places in the world,” explains Nikijs.
“For me, Latvia is not so much the shape, the flag or the anthem. Latvia is made by the people of Latvia. By me.”
